General Information

Dr. Yasmin Chotocruz was born and raised in Costa Rica. She received her Medical Degree (MD) from University of Costa Rica in 1994, and for five years she enjoyed a successful practice as a Family Doctor. She gained extensive experience in the medical care of children and adults of all ages.

Her long held interest in Alternative Medicine deepened after she experienced her own body's inherent ability to heal itself, and the effectiveness of the many options that Natural Medicine has to offer. For this reason, she moved to Portland, Oregon to continue her Medical training, and obtained the Degree of Doctor in Naturopathic Medicine from the National College of Naturopathic Medicine

Dr. Chotocruz joined the Natural Childbirth and Family Clinic in 2003. In her practice as a Naturopathic Physician (N.D.), she integrates her knowledge and experience in both Naturopathic and Allopathic Medicine, to successfully treat her patients.

As a native Costa Rican she serves multiple Hispanic patients, who find in her the comfort and trust of communicating in their own language, and the advantages of culturally competent medical services.

Dr. Chotocruz is also adjunct faculty member for the National College of Naturopathic Medicine, where she is a clinic supervisor for third and fourth year medical students.
